The Place Called Stuck
When we want to be living differently but have not yet changed, we grow increasingly frustrated and angry with ourselves. We know exactly what we ought to do, but were not doing it, arghh! We berate ourselves for not simply taking the steps forward, but it doesn’t help. At this point we would do well to realize that we may be stuck. Recognizing that we are stuck is an acceptance of being in a certain place. It is the place where one knows what they should do but are not yet ready to make change.
Let’s use a car to illustrate the point. Imagine if your car broke down and you said “I can’t believe it! It’s not moving, it needs to be driving! a minute ago it was driving fine!”. When a car breaks down, we understand that something that causes the car to run is not working. We accept that easily, not getting frustrated that it should drive. When a person is not living as they want to, something is causing them to stay in place. Knowing what you should do will not propel you forward, embrace that you are in the place called stuck.
